Ingredients

 Soft margarine1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Brown sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 1 cup unsifted pastry flour
 Sweetened condensed milk3/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 1/2 cup finely chopped or minced fancy apricots
 Vanilla1 Teaspoon
 Rolled oats1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Nuts1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped

Directions

Cream margarine and sugar together.
Add flour.
Press into the bottom of an ungreased 8-inch square cake pan.
Bake at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool slightly.
Mix the next five ingredients together and spread over the partially baked crust.
Return to the oven and bake 30 minutes.
While still hot, brush with apricot jam and sprinkle with nuts.
Cut into bars while still warm.
Cool completely and lift from pan.
