Applesauce Cake Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 cake or 1 teaspoon dried yeast | ||
| 1/8 cup lukewarm sweet cider | ||
| Honey | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Oil | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Unsweetened applesauce | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 cups mixed whole-grain flours | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Dates | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Nuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 1 teaspoon each, ground cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg | ||
Directions
Soften yeast in Cider.
Mix honey, oil, egg and applesauce and combine with softened yeast.
Stir in flour and salt.
Add rest of ingredients.
Blend thoroughly.
Turn into oiled loaf pan.
Set in warm place to rise for 30 minutes.
Bake at 350° F. for 45 to 55 minutes.
