| 1/2 cup dry bread or cracker crumbs | ||
| Beer | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (Meat Loaf:) | |

| 1 egg, slightly beaten | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon (Meat Loaf:) | |
| 1/4 teaspoon each sage, thyme, and garlic powder | ||

| Applesauce | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) (Topping and Sauce:) | |
| Beer | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) (Topping and Sauce:) | |
Directions
1. For meat loaf, mix ingredients. Shape into an elongated loaf. Place in a shallow roasting pan.
2. Bake at 350°F 50 minutes.
3. Spoon fat from pan. Spread 1/3 cup applesauce over meat loaf. Bake 10 minutes longer.
4. For sauce, heat 1 cup applesauce and beer to simmering; serve over meat loaf slices.
