Applesauce Spice Cake Recipe

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
3/4 cup salad oil
3 eggs
1 14 1/2- to 15-ounce jar unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/4 cup dark seedless raisins, chopped

Directions
1. Grease a 13- to 15-cup fluted tube dish.
2. In small bowl, combine flour, ground cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and ground cloves.
3. In large bowl, with mixer at low speed, beat brown sugar, salad oil, and eggs just until blended. Increase speed to high; beat until mixture is light and fluffy, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Reduce speed to low; beat in applesauce, then flour mixture, beating just until blended. With rubber spatula, stir in walnuts and raisins.
4. Pour batter into prepared dish; cover dish with waxed paper. Cook at medium low (30% power) 10 minutes, then at high (100% power) 9 to 10 minutes, rotating dish a quarter turn every 5 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
5. Let cake stand 15 minutes, uncovered, in dish set directly on heat-safe surface or board. Loosen sides of cake from dish; invert cake onto cake plate. Let cake stand until cool.
