Applesauce Raisin Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 Cup Butter or Shortening | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 1 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Cloves | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Nutmeg | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Raisins | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 Cup Quick-cooking Oats | ||
| Applesauce | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 Cup Finely-chopped Nuts, if desired | ||
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cream butter & sugar; stir in egg.
Sift together dry ingredients (except oats); add to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce and oats.
Beat well.
Stir in raisins and nuts.
Drop by tsp.onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees about 15 minutes.
Keeps well - not too sweet and kids love them.
