| Applesauce | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sifted flour | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Cut up | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (dates) | |
| Nuts | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon |

Directions
Add egg and mix thoroughly.
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce, blending well.
Add dates, nuts and vanilla.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheets about 1 1/2 inches apart.
Bake in 400° oven about 10 minutes or until brown.
