Applesauce Cake Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 cup walnuts
3 eggs
2 cup peeled apple pieces
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 cup raisins
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°.
Lightly grease and flour a 9-inch square pan.
Using a blender, chop nuts and set aside.
Put eggs and apple pieces into blender.
Cover and process at puree until apples are finely chopped (if necessary, stop blender and use rubber spatula to keep mixture around the processing blades).
In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar.
Add egg and apple mixture; mix.
Add dry ingredients; blend thoroughly.
Stir in nuts and raisins.
Pour into prepared pan and bake 35 to 40 minutes.
