Apple Rings Recipe
Ingredients
| 3 or 4 large apples | ||
| Eggs | 2 , separated | |
| Sugar | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Cardamom | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon, melted | |
| Milk | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shortening for deep frying | ||
| Peel, core, and slice apples 1/2 inch thick. | ||
Directions
Beat egg whites stiff; set aside.
Beat egg yolks; add sugar, salt, and cardamom.
Add melted butter, milk, and flour.
Beat thoroughly.
Fold in stiffened egg whites.
Dip a slice of apple into batter; drop at once into hot deep fat.
Fry until lightly browned.
Drain apples, put them on serving platter and sprinkle with sugar.
Serve them warm.
