Apple Raisin Pie Supreme Recipe
Ingredients
8 ounce package of sun-dried apples
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup fresh orange juice (enough to cover apples and raisins)
Juice of one lemon
3/4 cup raw honey
Dash of sea salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Unbaked whole wheat pastry shell and dough for top crust
2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg white, slightly beaten with 1 teaspoon honey
Directions
Soak apples and raisins overnight in orange juice.
Drain and save any excess juice.
Add lemon juice, honey, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon to the fruit.
Put apples and raisins in bottom of uncooked crust.
Dribble any remaining orange juice over fruit.
Sprinkle fruit with flour.
Dot with butter.
Make criss-cross top with strips of remaining pie dough.
Brush dough with sweetened egg white.
Bake 10 minutes at 450°.
Lower temperature to 300 Degree and bake for 1 hour more.
