Apple Porridge Recipe
Apple porridge is a delicious and nutritious porridge that can be served for breakfast. Made with broken wheat and rolled oats, the porridge is pressure cooked with milk and flavored with cinnamon powder. Served with added apples and sugar or sweetner, the apple porridge is a real delight.This is a special low sugar recipe great for diabetics as well as for people on low carb diet. Ingredients
| Wheat | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), broken | |
| Quick cooking oats | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), rolled | |
| Milk fat | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 4 sachets sugar substitute | ||
| Cinnamon powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Apple | 3 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| 4 teaspoons low-fat butter | ||
Directions
Clean, wash and drain broken wheat.
Heat butter in a pressure cooker, add broken wheat and saute for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add oats and cook for 2 minutes.
Add milk and 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
Mix cinnamon powder.
Cool in the refrigerator.
Add the sugar substitute and apples and mix well.
Serve chilled garnished with cinnamon sticks.
