Sour Apple'S Pie Recipe

Ingredients
4 or 5 sour apples
1 teaspoon butter or fortified margarine
1/2 cup sugar or 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup honey
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
Make pastry for a two-crust pie.
Line the pie plate with pastry.
Pare, core, and slice the apples and fill the pie.
Sprinkle sugar or sugar and honey cinnamon, and nutmeg over the apples, dot over with butter.
Wet the edges of the under crust and cover with the upper crust, pressing the edges close together.
Bake in a hot oven (425° to 450° F ) until the crust is brown, then 350° F until the fruit is cooked.
Other fruits, as berries, cherries, peaches, or rhubarb, may be used in place of apples
