Apple Pecan Crisp Recipe

Ingredients
5 cups peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples
3/4 to 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup soft butter
1/2 cup crumbled pecans, optional
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375° F.
Grease 8x8x2 inch pan.
Layer the bottom with 1/2 of the sliced apples.
Daub with 1/2 cup butter.
Mix together 3/4 cup sugar, flour, rolled oats, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and most of the remaining butter.
Layer 1/2 of mixture on top of apples.
Layer remaining apples over top then remaining mixture.
Daub the top with butter.
Sprinkle pecans over top.
Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are soft and top is golden.
If pecans darken too much in last 15 minutes of baking, cover with foil for remaining time.
