Apple-Pear Puree Recipe
Ingredients
11/2 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 pound pears, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 quart water
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened orange juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions
Combine apples, pears, and water in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil.
Cover; reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.
Drain.
Combine apple mixture and remaining ingredients in a bowl.
Mash until mixture resembles chunky applesauce.
Serve hot or cold.
