Apple Roly Poly Recipe
The apple or other fruit roly poly is a steamed dessert. Made with any fruit of choice, the apple or other fruit roly poly is a spiced dessert made with a hint of cinnamon and grated lemon rind for some tang. Cooked and sliced, the apple or other fruit roly poly may be served with whipped cream or a fruit syrup.
Ingredients
| Apples | 2 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Lemon rind- 2 teaspoons, grated | ||
| Baking Powder Biscuit- 1 recipe | ||
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon, melted | |
Directions
MAKING
1.In a bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon rind.
2.Roll dough into a rectangle 1/4 inch thick.
3.Spread with butter and apple mixture; roll up like jelly roll.
4.Wet edges and press together so that juice will not escape.
5.Place roll in a cloth and tie loosely.
6.Steam for 1 1/2 hours.
SERVING
7.Serve warm with ice cream
