Apple And Lemon Chess Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind
4 eggs, beaten
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
Directions
Combine sugar, salt, and lemon rind, set aside.
Combine eggs, lemon juice, butter, and applesauce; add dry ingredients, and beat with an electric mixer until mixture is blended.
Pour into unbaked pastry shell, bake at 450° for 15 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350°; bake an additional 15 minutes or until set.
Cool on a wire rack.
