Apple Custard Pie Recipe
This Apple Custard Pie is a wonderful dessert treat which has been a favorite for generations! Here's a simple and quick recipe for you to follow to make your own homamade Apple Custard Pie without any flaw!
Ingredients
1 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt •
Grated rind of 1/2 lemon
1 cup grated raw apple
2 cups milk, scalded
1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
Cinnamon
Directions
Beat eggs slightly, add sugar, salt, lemon rind and apple.
Add milk and strain, forcing the apple through the sieve.
Pour into unbaked pie shell.
Sprinkle a little cinnamon on the top.
Bake in a hot oven (400 F) 10 minutes, reduce the temperature to 300'' F and continue baking 30 to 45 minutes or until a silver knife, inserted in the center comes out clean.
Makes one 9-inch pie.
