Apple Crumble Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 recipe for pastry for 2-crust 9-inch pie
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
6 cups peeled, sliced apples
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
Vanilla ice cream
Directions
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Roll pastry thin and use to line pie pan building up a high fluted edge.
Combine to cup brown sugar, cinnamon and salt and toss through apple slices lightly.
Put in pastry-lined pan.
Work butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar and flour together, first with fork then with fingers, until crumbly.
Sprinkle over apples.
Bake until apples are tender, about 1 hour. (If topping starts to brown too much, cover with a piece of aluminum foil.)
Serve warm with ice cream.
