Spices Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients
3/4 cup each all purpose flour and firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 tablespoons firm butter or margarine
6 cups cored, peeled, and thinly sliced tart apples or firm ripe pears
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Whipped cream, ice cream, or Cheddar cheese slices
Directions
In a small bowl, stir together flour, sugar, oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Cut butter into small pieces and, with a pastry blender or two forks, cut into flour mixture until crumbly; set aside.
In a 2 quart casserole, toss together apples and lemon juice.
Sprinkle flour mixture over apples.
Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) for 11 to 13 minutes (rotating dish 1/4 turn after 5 minutes) or until apples are fork tender.
Let stand, uncovered, for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve warm.
Or cool and refrigerate; bring to room temperature before serving.
