Apple Crisp Recipe
Apple crisp is a sweet and homely baked dessert made with tart apples combined with rolled oats and flour along with a dash of cinnamon for flavor. Browned in the oven, the apple crisp is served warm with ice cream.
Ingredients
5 cups sliced pared tart apples
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup enriched flour
3/4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter or margarine
Directions
Arrange apples in buttered 9 inch pie plate.
Combine brown sugar, flour, oats, and cinnamon; cut in butter till crumbly.
Press mixture over apples.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) 45 to 50 minutes or till top is browned.
Serve warm with ice cream.
