Apple Cranberry Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 recipe (2 crust) pie pastry
4 cups thinly sliced peeled cored apples
1 cup halved fresh cranberries
1/4 cup mincemeat
2 tablespoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Blend together the sugar and flour.
Sprinkle 1/4 cup of the sugar mixture in a pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Combine the apples, cranberries and mincemeat and mix well.
Layer the apple mixture in the pastry shell and drizzle with a mixture of the orange juice and salt.
Sprinkle the remaining sugar mixture over the top.
Cut the remaining pastry into strips.
Arrange lattice-fashion over the pie.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
