Apple Cinnamon Pie Recipe
This apple cinnamon pie is a classic american dessert made with cooking apples and flavored with cinnamon. Prepared with a base of flour, butter and sugar, the apple cinnamon pie is filled with apple slices, sugar, cinnamon powder and a little lemon juice. brushed with egg and baked, the apple cinnamon pie can be served with whipped cream.
Ingredients

| 1 tsp. castor sugar | ||

| Cold water | 20 Milliliter | |
| 250 gms. cooking apples | ||
| Sugar | 50 Gram | |
| Cinnamon powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 tsp..lemon juice | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
Directions
Sieve together the flour and salt, rub in the butter and sugar gently and quickly to resemble bread crumbs.
Sprinkle cold water evenly and press the mixture together, using a palate knife or a rounded kitchen knife.
Bind the mixture into a smooth dough.
Divide into 2 portions.
Roll out on a lightly floured surface, to 1 cm thick circles, using short sharp strokes.
Lightly grease and dust the tart dish, place 1 roundal at the bottom.
Cover the pastry with apple slices, sugar, : cinnamon powder and a little lemon juice.
Place the other pastry on top.
Press the edges together and cut away the surplus pastry.
Brush the top with lightly beaten egg white, making a cross in the centre to allow the steam to escape.
Pre heat the oven on 'convection' at 190° C.
Bake the pastry at 190° C, placed on the low rack, for 55:00 minutes.
