Apple Cheese Crisp Recipe

Ingredients
16 to 20 medium apples
2 teaspoons cinnamon
4 teaspoons lemon juice
3 cups sugar
2 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup vegetable shortening
6 cups shredded process American cheese
Directions
Pare, core, and slice apples into four greased 12x8x2 inch baking dishes. (Or, use four 2 quart casseroles.)
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Combine 3/4 cup water and the lemon juice; pour over apples.
Mix sugar, flour, and salt; cut in vegetable shortening until crumbly.
Lightly stir in cheese.
Sprinkle mixture over apples in baking dishes.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until topping is browned and apples are tender.
