Apple Butterscotch Cobbler Recipe

Stir until the sugar is dissolved and bring to the boil.
Peel, core and quarter apples, place in syrup and boil until tender.
Arrange in a shallow, greased oven dish.
Topping: Sift flour, salt and sugar and rub in butter.
Mix to a soft dough with water.
Roll out light- ly on a floured board into an oblong, about 1/2" thick.
Spread with softened butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and roll up like a swiss roll.
Cut into slices and arrange on top of apples.
Bake in a hot oven for 20 — 25 minutes, till well browned and well risen.
Serve with custard.
