Directions

In a small bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup (50 mL) brown sugar and cinnamon.
With a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine flour, bran, 3/4 cup (175 mL) brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
Fold in chopped apples.
In another bowl beat together milk, oil and eggs.
Pour into apple mixture and stir just until blended.
Spoon batter into prepared muffin tin, filling cups three-quarters full.
Sprinkle with topping and bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
HINT: Store brown sugar, raisins, nuts, bran, etc. in glass jars to keep fresh.
