Apple-Barbecued Ribs Recipe

Ingredients
6 pounds spareribs
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 (16 ounce) can applesauce
1/2 cup catsup
1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Cut ribs into serving-size pieces, and place in a large dutch oven.
Add water to cover; bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes.
Drain ribs, and set aside.
Saute onion and garlic in oil in a medium saucepan until tender.
Stir in remaining ingredients; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove sauce from heat, and set aside.
Grill ribs over low coals 40 minutes, turning frequently.
Baste ribs with sauce.
Grill an additional 20 minutes or until desired degree of doneness.
Turn and baste frequently with sauce.
