Apple Wheat Coffee Cake Recipe

|Apple||1 Medium, peeled, cored and thinly sliced|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1 Teaspoon|

Place butter on small plate.
Microwave at 30% (Medium Low) for 15 seconds to 1 minute, or until softened, checking after every 15 seconds.
Cut butter into flour mixture until coarse crumbs form.
Reserve 1 cup flour and butter mixture.
Add baking powder, salt, milk and egg to remaining mixture.
Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Spread batter evenly into 9-inch square baking dish.
Arrange apple slices on batter.
Add walnuts and cinnamon to reserved flour and butter mixture.
Sprinkle over apple slices.
Shield corners of dish with foil.
Place dish on saucer in microwave oven.
Microwave at 50% (Medium) for 9 minutes, rotating dish after every 3 minutes.
Increase power to High.
Microwave for 3 to 6 minutes, or until center springs back when touched lightly and no uncooked batter remains on the bottom, rotating once.
Let stand on counter for 5 minutes.
