Apple Turnovers Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter margarine | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Dry yeast package | 2 | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Applesauce for filling | ||
Directions
Cut the butter into the flour and salt with 2 knives.
The mixture will be slightly lumpy.
Mix the yeast in a beaten egg until all yeast is dissolved.
Add this to the flour mixture.
Knead thoroughly with your hands.
Roll out the dough on a floured board.
Cut it with a round cutter at least 3 inches in diameter.
Put a teaspoonful of applesauce on half of each dough round.
Fold over the other half and seal the edges with a fork.
Bake the turnovers on a greased baking sheet at 425°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
They may be glazed with your favorite icing when cold.
