Apple Preserves Recipe
Ingredients
| Apples | 6 Cup (96 tbs), sliced (peeled, cored) | |
| Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Powdered pectin | 1 Packet | |
| Lemon | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), thinly sliced | |
| Sugar | 4 Cup (64 tbs) | |
| Nutmeg | 2 Teaspoon |
Directions
Combine apples, water and lemon juice in a large sauce pot.
Simmer, covered, 10 minutes.
Stir in pectin and bring to a rolling boil, stirring frequently.
Add lemon slices and sugar.
Return to a rolling boil.
Boil hard 1 minute, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat; add nutmeg.
Pour hot into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch head space.
Adjust caps.
Process 10 minutes in boiling water bath.
