Easy Apple Pie Recipe Video
Ingredients
Crust:
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening (butter flavored Crisco)
Cut flour into crisco (with fork and knife) until pea size. Gradually add in 3 tablespoons water until dough forms a big clumpy ball. Place dough on floured surface and roll out until size of your pie pan. Roll out crust into pan, cut off excess dough from edges, and use fork to "smoosh" edges and give them a pattern. Place crust in fridge until filling is complete.
Filling:
3-4 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into bite-size chunks (enough to fill pie shell)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup Wondra
Add and stir ingredients together until apples coated. Pour filling into pie shell. Dot (pinch small bits of butter all over top of pie) with 1 tablespoon of butter.
Crumb Topping:
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
Directions
Add and stir ingredients (with fork) until a crumb-like texture.
