Ingredients

 Flour1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (For short crust pastry)
 Butter1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (For short crust pastry)
 Salt1 Pinch (For short crust pastry)
 Water3 Tablespoon (For short crust pastry)
 Pinch of Soda bicarb
 Apples400 Gram (For filling)
 Sugar100 Gram (For filling)
 Pinch of nutmeg powder
 Milk for brushing

Directions

Sieve flour and salt together in a large mixing bowl.
Mix butter and flour with fingers till it resembles bread crumbs.
Knead to a stiff dough by adding water.
Knead well and divide into two.
Roll out both the doughs into 1/2 cm thick pastry slightly bigger than the pie dish.
Take a round pie dish.
Put one pastry in the dish covering the sides of the dish also.
Cut out extra pastry with a knife.
Prick with fork.
Peel, core and cut the apples into slices and arrange over the pastry.
Sprinkle sugar and nutmeg over the apple slice.
Sprinkle 2 tbsp water also.
Cut strips from the second pastry and make lattice design on top of the pasty.
Brush the pastry with milk.
Bake in the oven at 220°C for 20 minutes.
Reduce the heat to 160°C and bake for another 20 minutes.
Cool for 10 minutes.
Remove from the dish and serve warm.
