Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups peeled and thinly sliced tart apples
3/4 cup apple juice
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons apple juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 cup honey
3/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 chilled 10-inch Whole Wheat Pastry 1 pie shell
Directions
1. Put the apples in a medium-sized saucepan and add the apple juice, salt, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves. Mix the cornstarch with apple juice and lemon juice and stir into the apple mixture. Add the honey and bring mixture to a boil. Cook, stirring, until thick.
2. Stir in raisins and nuts. Cool. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
3. Pour the cooled mixture into the pie shell and bake below the center of the oven for 40 minutes, or until the pastry is done and apples are tender.
