Spiced Apple Pie Recipe
Apple Pie is one dish which you cannot resist making again and again. The Apple Pie is made with Apple which is easy to procure from any grocery store. I prefer to make Apple Pie as a Dessert for all my family get-togethers. Treat your friends to this Apple Pie and let them know its taste.
Ingredients
2 lbs. baking apples, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup raisins
Butter
1 (2-crust 9-inch) pastry
Directions
Insert metal accessory rack.
Preheat oven to 425°F.
In large mixing bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice.
In small mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; add to apples and toss until well coated.
Add almond extract and raisins.
Pour apple mixture into pastry-lined pie plate.
Dot with butter.
Top with remaining pastry and flute the edges.
Slit top of pastry to vent.
Bake 10 minutes; reduce heat to 375°F.and continue to bake 40 to 45 minutes until crust is lightly browned.
