Apple Pan Dowdy Recipe
|White bread slices||12|
|Unsalted butter/More sugar||6 Tablespoon|
|Baking apples||4 Large, peeled, quartered, cored, quarters cut crosswise into 1/4-inch slices (Rome Or Other Not-Too-Tart Variety)|
|Firmly packed light brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon, freshly grated|
|Dark rum||2 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Unsalted butter||5 Tablespoon, chilled and cut|
|Whipping cream||1 Cup (16 tbs), lightly whipped and sweetened with sugar|

1.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2.Take 6 8 ounce souffle dishes or ramekins and grease them.
3.With a cutter, take the 12 round shaped pieces from the bread.
4.Spread melted butter on each side of the bread and on one side put sugar.
5.Put 1 bread in each dish with the sugared side facing down.
6.In a separate bowl, mix apples with molasses, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, rum, lemon juice, vanilla and butter oieces.
7.Put the mixture in every dish so that the dish is almost full.
8.Keep one bread on every dish with the sugared side facing up.
9.Put the dish in the oven and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown or place the dishes in roasting pan with water and heat until brown.
10.Serve with whipped cream
