Apple Nectar Recipe
Ingredients
| Tart apples, 1 kg. | ||
| Sugar | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Citric acid, 1 1/2 teaspoons | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Corn flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Few sprigs mint leaves, to garnish | ||
Directions
Wash the apples and cut in small pieces without peeling.
In a sauce pan combine apples, and 1 1/2 cups water and put the pan on fire.
Mix cornflour in 1/2 cup water.
When apples are cooked add the cornflour paste and stir for a minute.
Remove the pan from fire.
Cool the mixture slightly.
Liquidise the mixture and pass it through a sieve.
In another sauce pan combine sugar and remaining water and make a syrup.
When the syrup comes to boil add citric acid dissolved in some water.
Strain the syrup.
Combine the syrup and apple mixture.
When cool, add salt, essence and colour.
