Apple Layer Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
| 900 g / 2 lb dessert apples | ||
| 30 ml / 2 tbsp lemon juice | ||
| Ginger biscuits | 75 Gram | |
| 1/3 cup / 50 g / 2 oz moist brown sugar | ||
| Golden Raisins | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 5 ml / 1 tsp ground cinnamon | ||
| Custard or whipped cream | ||
Directions
Peel, core and thinly slice the apples. Sprinkle them with lemon juice.
Crush the ginger biscuits (cookies) in a polythene bag with a rolling pin. Add the crumbs to the sugar, sultanas (golden raisins) and ground cinnamon. Mix well.
In a large souffle dish, alternate layers of apple and biscuit mixture, ending with a biscuit layer on top.
Cook uncovered for 10 minutes.
