Apple Jonathan Recipe
Ingredients
| 6 to 8 tart apples, peeled, cored, and thinlysliced | ||
| 1/2 cup pure maple syrup or maple-flavored syrup | ||
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Milk | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Light cream | ||
Directions
In bowl toss apples with syrup till apples are coated.
Spread evenly in 12x 7 1/2 x 2 -inch baking dish.
Cream together sugar and butter till light.
Beat in egg.
Thoroughly mix flour, baking powder, and salt; add to butter mixture alternately with milk,beating after each addition.
Pour over apples.
Bake at 350° 30 to 35 minutes.
