 6 to 8 tart apples, peeled, cored, and thinlysliced
 1/2 cup pure maple syrup or maple-flavored syrup

 All purpose flour1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Baking powder2 Teaspoon
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Milk1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Light cream

Directions

In bowl toss apples with syrup till apples are coated.
Spread evenly in 12x 7 1/2 x 2 -inch baking dish.
Cream together sugar and butter till light.
Beat in egg.
Thoroughly mix flour, baking powder, and salt; add to butter mixture alternately with milk,beating after each addition.
Pour over apples.
Bake at 350° 30 to 35 minutes.
