Cinnamon Apple Fritters Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| White sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Egg | 1 , Well beaten | |
| 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp milk | ||
| 1/4 tsp grated lemon rind | ||
| 1 1/2 cups sweet apples, peeled, cored, and chopped | ||
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (Cinnamon Coating:) | |
| Ground cinnamon | 2 Tablespoon (Cinnamon Coating:) | |
Directions
Sift dry ingredients together into a large bowl.
Add well-beaten egg and milk and grated lemon rind.
Stir well until batter is smooth.
Add apples.
Drop by spoonfuls into deep fat at 375 degrees.
Fry 2 minutes on each side or until puffed up and golden brown.
Drain on a paper towel.
Combine the 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in a paper bag and shake the fritters gently in this mixture.
Makes 12-15 fritters.
