2 tablespoons sugar
 
4 cooking apples
 
2 additional tablespoons sugar
 
2 tablespoons water

Directions

Separate the yolks from the whites of the eggs.
Peel, core, and slice the apples and add to the water and sugar.
Cook them until very soft.
Sieve the apples and add the beaten egg yolks.
Put into a pie dish and top with a meringue made from the egg whites and additional sugar.
Bake at 400° until meringue is well colored.
