Apple Dumplings Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Shortening | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Milk | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Apples | 8 | |
| Sugar | 8 Tablespoon | |
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Cinnamon and sugar mixed | ||
Directions
Sift flour, salt, and baking powder.
Cut in shortening.
Add milk and stir.
Knead lightly on a floured board.
Roll 1/8-inch thick.
Divide dough into 8 parts.
Peel and core apples.
Place one apple on each section of dough.
Fill hollow of apple with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of butter.
Fold dough over apple, pressing edges together.
Place in a shallow baking pan.
Sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture and dot with remaining butter.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Serve with cream or half-and-half.
