Apple Crunch Recipe
Ingredients
| 6 cups thinly sliced tart green apples | ||
| Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Maple syrup | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Whole wheat pastry flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Rolled oats | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pecans and walnuts | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Place the apples in an 8" X 8" baking dish.
Drizzle with the lemon juice and 6 tablespoons of the maple syrup.
Mix well and set aside.
Place the flour in a medium bowl.
Use a pastry blender to cut in the margarine or butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
Stir in the oats, pecans or walnuts, cinnamon, and the remaining 2 tablespoons maple syrup.
Spoon this mixture over the apples.
Microwave on high for 6 minutes.
Rotate the dish a half turn.
Microwave on high for 6 to 7 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
