Apple Crunch Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 lb. apples
 
2 oz. dates
 
Little sugar to taste
 
Water
 
2 oz. butter or margarine
 
2 oz. sugar
 
4 oz. cornflakes

Directions

Put sliced apples with dates, sugar and a very little water into dish and cook slowly until nearly tender and a thick mixture.
Cream butter and sugar, add cornflakes and press on top of apples.
Continue cooking in moderate oven (400 °F. gas Mark 4-5) until top is crisp.
