Apple Clafouti Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 cooking apples, peeled cored and sliced 1/4" thick | ||
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Sugar | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brandy | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Vanilla essence | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
Directions
Saute apple slices in butter until golden but firm.
Sprinkle sugar and brandy and soak for 1/2 an hour.
Drain out and measure liquid, adding enough milk to make up 1 1/2 cups liquid.
Combine eggs, vanilla essence, salt and flour with the liquid, if possible in a blender for 1 min otherwise beat eggs and mix well with a wooden spoon.
Grease a medium-sized baking dish, pour a thin layer of batter in it and set in a mod oven.
Take out dish, arrange apple slices in it and pour remaining batter over these.
With oven at 400°, bake for about 40 mins until custard is set but moist.
Reduce heat to 350° and bake another 10 mins.
