Ingredients

 4 pounds well-flavored apples, stemmed and quartered
 2 cups cider or water
 Sugar
 Ground cinnamon3 Teaspoon
 Ground cloves1 1/2 Teaspoon
 Ground allspice1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

Cook apples in cider or water until soft.
Strain pulp.
To each cup of pulp add 1/2 cup sugar.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture sheets from spoon.
Pour into hot sterilized jars.
Store in cool dry place.
