Apple Butter Recipe
If you ask me, this Apple Butter recipe is the best in the world. That is why I am so excited about sharing this with you. Use the freshest of Fruits available to get a delicious Apple Butter. Even though Apple Butter is a Side Dish I relish it any time of the day. Am sure you have had a lot of recipes passed on to you by aunts, mom, grandparents, friends, etc. It is time you pay them back by making and then sharing this wonderful Apple Butter.
Ingredients
3 quarts sweet cider
2 teaspoons cloves
8 pounds ripe, well flavored apples
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
2 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Cook cider over a high heat, uncovered, about 30 minutes or until it is reduced to half.
Wash, quarter, and core unpeeled apples, add to cider, and cook over a low heat until very tender.
Stir frequently.
Work apple mixture through a sieve, returning the puree to the kettle.
Stir in sugar, all the spices, and salt.
Cook over a very low heat, stirring almost continuously, until Apple Butter thickens.
Pour into sterilized pint jars and seal securely.
