 Onion1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Shortening1 Tablespoon
 1 10 1/2-ounce can chicken gravy
 Brown sugar3 Tablespoon
 Ground cinnamon1/4 Teaspoon
 3 cups cubed cooked pork
 2 tart apples, peeled and chopped
 Packaged instant mashed potatoes (enough for 4 servings)
 Milk1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Pepper1 Dash
 Egg1 , beaten
 American Cheese1/2 Cup (16 tbs), shredded

Directions

In saucepan cook onion in shortening till tender.
Stir in gravy, sugar, and cinnamon.
Add pork and apples; mix well.
Spoon mixture into a 8x1 1/2-inch round baking dish.
Prepare potatoes according to package directions, except use 1/4 cup milk and dash pepper.
Blend egg into potatoes.
Spoon potatoes in 6 mounds atop pork mixture.
Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 25 minutes.
Sprinkle with shredded cheese; return to oven till cheese melts, about 5 minutes longer.
