Hi, golden syrup is also called treacle or inverted sugar syrup.
Combine two parts light corn syrup plus one part molasses OR equal parts honey and corn syrup OR maple syrup (This is thinner, and not as sweet.) OR dark corn syrup (This is thnner and not as sweet as golden syrup. If you like, try reducing the corn syrup in a saucepan to thicken it.)

I need an ingredient clarification... hope someone can help out.
Is "golden syrup" the same as light corn syrup, dark corn syrup, maple syrup, or something else?
Does the recipe call for 1 cup of oats? No # of cups was given, I'm assuming 1.
My son and I might be making this for our World Cultures & Geography class Australian/Oceanic feast in 2 days.

Gallipoli landings during WW1 is indeed a great day in Aussie history. I wonder Anzac biscuit is what Aussies will eat after winning the cricket world cup.
