Ingredients

 Shin beef2 Pound
 Water4 Cup (64 tbs)
 Soy sauce1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
 Sugar2 Tablespoon
 Ginger root slices4
 Sherry2 Tablespoon
 Anise seeds/4 aniseed stars1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Sesame seed oil1 Teaspoon

Directions

Trim beef, and cover with water.
Bring to boil, and skim.
Add soy sauce, sugar, ginger, sherry and anise, and cook over medium heat about 2 hours.
Add sesame-seed oil, and cook about 20 minutes longer.
Slice meat, and serve hot or cold.
