Angostura Snaps Recipe
Angostura Snaps are very interesting kind of cookies. They have a spicy taste of ginger and Angostura, while rest of the recipe and methods remains the same as for other cookies. You may wonder what is special about Angostura Snaps, just try them once to know.
Ingredients
Butter or margarine-1/2 cup
Molasses-1/4 cup
Sugar-1/2 cup
Angostura bitters-2 teaspoons
All-purpose flour-1 cup, sifted
Ground ginger-1 teaspoon
Salt-1/4 teaspoon `
Directions
MAKING
1)In a saucepan, melt butter and add molasses and sugar and stir until sugar dissolves.
2)Remove mixture from heat and add bitters.
3)In a bowl, sift together flour, ginger and salt.
4)Mix it with molasses mixture and beat until smooth.
5)Take a greased baking sheet and drop spoonsful on it.
6)Bake in a very hot oven at 450 degrees for about 14 minutes.
7)Let cookies cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
SERVING
8)Serve the Angostura snaps when desired.
