Anchovy Steaks Recipe
Ingredients
4 large, tender steaks (sirloin or club steaks)
Oil
1 clove garlic
3 tablespoons butter
1 to 2 tablespoons anchovy paste
Squeeze of lemon juice
Freshly ground black pepper
Directions
Preheat broiler.
Brush steaks with oil and crushed garlic.
Let marinate at least an hour, longer if possible.
Cream butter until soft.
Add anchovy paste gradually, using amount to taste.
Add lemon juice and pepper.
Make into 4 balls or pats.
Put in refrigerator to chill.
When broiler is very hot, put steaks under.
Cook 3 to 6 minutes on each side, depending on thickness of steaks and personal taste.
When ready, put pat of anchovy butter on each steak.
