Amsulache Saar Recipe

A very famous and traditional dish specially in Konkan.Am very fond of Amsulache Saar,so whenever i used to drop by Konkan side i used to always have it.Tried at home and the recipe turned awesome.It is generally served with non-veg dishes.

Ingredients

 Thick coconut milk2 Cup (32 tbs)
 Amsul6 Medium (mangosteen,kokum)
 Green chilly5 Small, chopped
 Curry leaves5 Small
 Ghee1 Teaspoon (clarified butter)
 Mustard seeds1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Asafoetida1⁄2 Pinch
 Cumin seeds1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Sugar2 Teaspoon
 Salt To Taste
 Water1 Cup (16 tbs)
For garnishing
 Coriander1 Teaspoon, chopped

Directions

GETTING READY
1)Soak amsul in one cup water for 15 minutes.

MAKING
2)After 15 minutes press amsul removing from water.(You will see that the colour of the water changes, it appears like amsul colour)
3)In a bowl mix this above water with coconut milk.
4)In a kadhai pour ghee add asafoetida,mustard seeds,cumin seeds,green chilly and curry leaves.Add coconut water in it and salt.Mix it well.Let it not boil.
5)Garnish with coriander.

SERVING
6)Serve Amsulache Saar with rice.
